The goal of the Juanita Basketball Association (JBA) is to promote the development of basketball skills in players that feed into Juanita High School. Through advanced training and competitive basketball, JBA pushes the boys in our program to work hard, be accountable and always keep a positive attitude. JBA strives to teach their players to play the game the right way, make their teammates better and build each other up.
Juanita Basketball has very knowledgeable and skilled coaches. Our coaches provide opportunities for players to grow their game and improve themselves. We encourage the boys to push themselves every time they step in the gym. We want them to play basketball at a high level with a high basketball IQ. Our teams get 2-3 practices a week, 30+ games a season and get additional training during the offseason.
All players in grades 3rd-8th, who live within the Juanita High School Boundary, are eligible to participate in the program. Area schools include: Juanita Elementary, Helen Keller Elementary, Thoreau Elementary, Frost Elementary, Muir Elementary, AG Bell Elementary, Finn Hill Middle School and Kamiakin Middle School. We have teams from 4th-8th grade. 3rd graders have the opportunity to play on the 4th grade team.
Consistent with our community-based mission, JBA conducts fundraisers in order to provide support to the programs in the schools is serves. Our main fundraiser is our own Thanksgiving Tournament. This year will be our 36th Annual Thanksgiving Tournament, held at Juanita High School. Our three day event is a JBA ran, volunteer based event, full of fun competitive basketball, hanging out with friends, and serving our community. Last year we raised and donated $8,000.00 to the Juanita High School Basketball Program as a way of Paying it Forward!
